    Depends on how much weight you want to lose. Anything over 30 lbs dont run, it will screw up your knees and hips. Go to the gym and do 40 mins on an oliptical machine or on a bike. If you are new to the excersise world do interval training(go all out for 1 min, rest for 2, repeat.) after that do basic calistenics (push ups, sit ups, squats, lunges) for 15-20 min. Drink lots of water. You can lose up to 10 lbs just by drinking water. If you want to lose less that 30 lbs go run. 20 min a day 5 days a week worked for me. I started on a treadmill and then went for a road run. I lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks, and I feel great. The most important part is sticking to it and giving 100% when you excersise. Also try calorie reduction. It doesnt always work for everybody but I stick to 1500 cal a day split between 3 meals. Give it a shot. Once yu get your metabolisim back on track you can cut back to working out 3 days a week and still keep your weight off. Hope this helps.
