Can Anyone Recommend Any Pilates/core Stability Exercises That Isolate The Back From The Abs?

I have had chronic back pain due to a muscle imbalance for about a year and a half. Pilates and Core Stability exercises have worked best for me. However, whilst it gives abs of steel, my back muscles still seem very weak and do virtually nothing. I really need to strengthen my back… Are there any exercises that work the back more and not the abs so much?

I can’t remember the name of it, but a pilates exercise I vaguely remember was laying on your front, then lifting up your chest from the floor with your arms by your side. Hold while breathing, then relax and repeat. Do it on a thick mat to avoid pressure on your sternum.
Make sure to curl into a ball afterwards to stretch the muscles the other way.

I think you’d love what a bullworker could do for your back muscles. It’s a great fitness device.
